April 15, 2013 – Singletrack Trails and Infrastructure in the South Okanagan; Andrew Drouin

Andrew’s presentation will touch on the history of singletrack trails in the South Okanagan, beginning with the first nations people.  It’ll describe how wildlife, cattle, motorcycle riders, hikers and cyclists have created a spider-web of trails throughout the valley.  The talk will also touch on current land-access issues and trail building / maintenance efforts.

About Andrew Drouin:

Andrew Drouin, author of the SweetSingletrack.ca publication has lived in the Okanagan Valley for the past 25 years.  During this time he has worked a day-job as a computer technician, but spent much of his free time hiking, biking and working on forest trail networks in the South Okanagan.  Andrew co-founded the Penticton & Area Cycling Association in 2008 and is currently laying the groundwork for the multi-sport ‘South Okanagan Trail Alliance’ in 2013.
